Skills development

The Foundation wants to see long-term investment in the training and skills development of employees with the aim of improving the veterinary hospital activities, and thereby satisfying the demands placed on veterinary care by both pet owners and authorities.

Extra investment is currently being made in the skills development of anaesthetic nurses. The cost is mainly linked to a reduction in working hours and increased staffing levels, since a major part of skills-development involves practical training whereby the nurse is required to work alongside an experience anaesthetic nurse.

As the training requirements within this area are fulfilled, the Foundation will evaluate which other areas are in need of particular investment in further training, together with the veterinary hospitals.
